'The Originals' Season 4 news, update, rumors, spoilers: Can Hope's power save the Mikaelsons?

The Original family of vampires has never been easily defeated by someone, until the prophesized foe unleashed his wrath and caused the anticipated downfall of the once powerful clan. The Season 3 finale of "The Originals" featured one of the most challenging moments in the lives of the Mikaelsons, and it all happened because of their former close ally that they even treated as a family. However, there is still hope for the family to rise once again as not everyone in the family was brought down by their enemy.
To recap, the finale episode featured the prophesized "Beast" who will take down the Mikaelsons. According to the prophecy, the Mikaelsons will be killed by a friend, family, and foe. The previous episodes revealed that Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) turned his back on the Mikaelsons after the family has decided to sacrifice Davina (Danielle Campbell), her adoptive daughter. In retaliation, Marcel took the serum that allows the drinker to have power greater than that of an Original vampire. The Mikaelsons thought that Marcel was dead, but the serum made him return from the dead and become stronger as ever, with his vampire fangs imbued with an incurable werewolf venom. It turned out that Marcel is the one that would cause their downfall.
In retaliation, Marcel gave Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Kol (Nate Buzzolic) a dose of his extremely fatal venom. He and his allies also ganged up on Freya (Riley Voelkel) and poisoned her, while Niklaus (Joseph Morgan) was put on a trial in front of all the latter's enemies, Marcel included. In hopes that Marcel would change his mind in exacting revenge, Rebekah (Claire Holt) was reawakened by Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) to convince the beast to stop. However, Marcel has already decided to let justice be served upon the MIkaelsons, and as a punishment, he stabbed Niklaus with Papa Tunde's blade, rendering the original hybrid immobile. Meanwhile, to stop the rest of the family's imminent death, Freya put herself and her siblings to a slumber spell that will keep everyone alive until a cure is made.
Many fans believe that Niklaus' daughter, Hope, will be the little savior of the Mikaelsons. This is possible because Hope is a witch, although at this point, she could not be a big help for her family as she is still an infant. However, executive producer Michael Narducci revealed in an interview with TV Line that there is going to be a time jump before the fourth season starts next year. This would mean that the viewers will see a grown up Hope, although still a child.
"We are going to have a little bit of a time jump in between when the story ends at the end of the finale and when we pick up in Season 4. That experience in the time jump will be similar to what the audience is feeling. To me, in a way, it actually makes sense," Narducci said.
YIbada also noted that Hope is a very special being. Aside from being witch, she also inherited the vampire curse from her father and the werewolf gene from both of her parents, thus making her a mixture of all three supernatural species. Most importantly, Hope's father believe that her daughter will live up to her name and be the salvation that the Mikaelsons need right now.
