The Originals Season 2 Spoilers, Recap: Esther Is Back With Kol And Finn

The Season 2 premiere of The Originals saw the vampires of the Mikaelson family, take on Guerrera wolves and kill all of them including Francesca in a bloodbath. The episode titled "Rebirth" also featured the arrival of the Mikaelson's matriarch Esther who now inhabits the body of Cassie. Along with her came two of her sons Finn in the body of Vincent, who is Cami's college advisor and Kol in the body of Kaleb.

So with the arrival of more brothers and the matriarch of the Mikaelson family, the series is poised to bring more enemies into the lives of the Elijah, Klaus and Rebekah. As for the road ahead in season 2, and the new characters of Finn and Kol, The Hollywood quotes executive producer Michael Narducci stating, "Finn is obsessed with pleasing his mother".

He continues by adding that Kol is "the Loki of the story" as people never know what he is up to.

As for Esther, The Hollywood Reporter is predicting that her agenda and what she has planned for her vampire sons will be revealed in the second and third episode. This will lead to Klaus and Elijah discovering that their mother has come back from the dead.

Meanwhile viewers also got a glimpse of Rebekah and baby Hope in the premiere, and show runner Narducci says viewers can expect to see more of them during the season. Also as Esther does not know that Hope survived, she could play an important part in the plot ahead.

Another important plot line in The Originals season 2, is the relationship between Hayley and Elijah. After Hayley and Klaus sent Hope away it resulted in Hayley growing apart from Elijah. Their relationship is destined to become more complicated according to Narducci, because Elijah will slowly come to realize that Hayley has more in common with his brother Klaus who is also a hybrid.
