"The Night Shift" premiered its third season earlier this month, and tomorrow's episode will see Drew's return after being deployed in Afghanistan for a while.

According to the official synopsis for episode 3 titled "The Way Back," Dr. Drew Alister (Brendan Fehr) flies back home after being deployed overseas, but he might be suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome. He has been in Afghanistan for quite some time, and even if he's already home, he continues to have a hard time adjusting after everything he went through. However, he tries to shake off the stress and continue on with his work in the San Antonio Medical Center.

Meanwhile, this gets crazy during her shift, as a bride (guest star Lindsey Morgan from "The 100") and some of her wedding guests were rushed into the emergency room after sustaining injuries during the party. The bride's father also needed medical help, but his presence will make the situation even more difficult. Elsewhere, TC (Eoin Macken) will help Topher (Ken Leung) in entertaining his demanding mother who happens to be in town to visit him. Unfortunately, the presence of Topher's mother will put a huge stress in the family as she extends her stay.

On another note, it was announced back in April that the show will be having a new character as series regular. "The 100" alum Tanaya Beatty joins the medical drama as Dr. Shannon Rivera, who was recruited by Dr. Jordan Alexander (Jill Flint). Shannon recently graduated from med school, and while volunteering at the reservation clinic, Jordan was impressed by her. As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, Shannon is "spunky" and always speaks her mind, but her strong personality might cause some of her co-workers to dislike her.

Keep tuning in for all-new episodes of "The Night Shift" which airs every Wednesday night at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
