'The Night Shift' season 3 episodes 5 & 6 spoilers: TC and Paul treat a college co-ed with complex condition, Sam treats a marathon runner suffering from extremely hot weather, tension between Jessica and TC escalates

NBC's hit medical drama, "The Night Shift" will have a special two-hour event tomorrow as the network will air two episodes of the show for this week. According to Carter Matt, this is a great chance for the network to push the storyline forward and ensure that the series has enough episodes before the Olympics which is scheduled for next month.

In episode 5 titled "Get Busy Livin,'" a college co-ed's life hangs in the balance after falling from a balcony. When she is in the emergency room, TC (Eoin Macken) and Paul (Robert Bailey Jr.) realize that her condition is more complicated than they initially expected. Jordan (Jill Flint) makes a connection with a terminally ill patient who gives her valuable lessons on living her life, while TC's errant sister-in-law Annie (guest star Sarah Jane Morris) comes back and meets him to make amends and put their past behind them. Meanwhile, a pharmaceutical rep named Jessica (guest star AnnaLynne McCord) enters the picture, and she currently has a cutting-edge equipment which Scott (Scott Wolf) really wanted to have for the hospital. He is already close to getting the machine, but her tension with TC might get in the way of Scott's plans.

Episode 6 titled "Hot in the City" will see Shannon (Tanaya Beatty) and Jordan (Jill Flint) decide to have some fun while spending their day off which led them to a local wrestling event. However, a fight breaks out among the audience and the two end up treating injured people on site. In the hospital, Sam (guest star Michael Cassidy) treats a marathon runner who collapsed due to the extremely hot weather. Unfortunately, the air conditioning breaks making it more difficult for everyone in the hospital. Meanwhile, the tensions between TC, Jordan, Sam and Annie continue to escalate further.
