'The Night Shift' season 3 episodes 10 & 11 spoilers, plot news: Another back-to-back episode set for Aug. 3

The upcoming Summer Olympics and political events caused another scheduling mix-up for NBC shows recently, leading the "The Night Shift" to have its second double-episode block next week. On Aug. 3, two back-to-back episodes of the hit medical drama will be aired starting 9 p.m. Eastern time.
In the first episode "Between a Rock and a Hard Place," a crane collapses on a construction worker and TC (Eoin Macken) and Paul (Robert Bailey, Jr.) must do everything to save the victim's life. While Paul is desperately trying to revive the crush victim, an observer falls into a gravel pit in the area. TC hurriedly jumps into the pit to save the patient before the shifting gravel consumes his body. In the ER, Scott (Scott Wolf) is shocked after learning that the boy he paralyzed returned to the hospital with more new complications. Meanwhile, cystic fibrosis patient Brianna (guest star Kyla Kenedy) finally finds a donor match to save her life. Drew (Brendan Fehr) finally determines his true feelings for her.
In the next episode "Trust Issues," TC's temper leads him to spend a night in prison. While spending time in a bar, TC initiates a brawl which lands him and Drew in jail for one whole night. As they count the hours, Drew and TC's relationship takes an unexpected turn and a conflict begins to arise. Jordan's (Jill Flint) date night also turns awry as she must rush him to the ER. She later on discovers that he is not the man she thought he was. Topher (Ken Leung) helps out a patient who considers him as his last hope, while Scott and Annie (guest star Sarah Jane Morris) try to work out their relationship. Jessica attempts to regain TC's trust as Syd (recurring guest star Jennifer Beals) meets Brianna for the first time.
Starting Aug. 10, "The Night Shift" season 3 will return to airing episodes every Wednesday night at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
