'The Maze Runner 3: The Death Cure' release date news update: 2018 premiere might be pushed back again
The premiere date of "The Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" was reported to be pushed back due to the injuries sustained by the film series' lead actor, Dylan O'Brien. The third "Maze Runner" installment is supposed to be released early next year, but it appears that O'Brien's present condition is not yet fit to shoot particular rigorous scenes that might aggravate his injuries. In fact, there are new rumors that the new 2018 premiere date target of the movie might still change as the young actor is still recuperating.

Not much has been heard from O'Brien since he was reported to have sustained injuries from his shooting engagement. As has been reported, the actor had a few concussions, facial fracture and lacerations, although the injuries are not life-threatening. Still, the overall health condition of O'Brien is unconfirmed. Therefore, it is speculated that the Jan. 12, 2018 release date arranged by Twentieth Century Fox to adjust the filming schedule to O'Brien's recovery might get pushed back anew.
Sugarscape reported a statement from Work Safe BC, saying that O'Brien has sustained more serious injuries than what the fans have expected. Moreover, the actor was said to have been pulled down to the ground during the vehicular accident. It was also suggested that O'Brien was dragged under the vehicle, dealing more injuries to his body.
O'Brien's publicist, Jennifer Allen, also revealed in a recent statement read by Entertainment Weekly that the actor did sustain serious injuries after the unfortunate accident, and it will take more time for his wounds to heal and for his body to be in the right condition to work once again.
Twentieth Century Fox also released a statement describing O'Brien's condition and the status of "The Death Cure" following the actor's accident.
"The resumption of principal photography on 'Maze Runner: The Death Cure' has been further delayed to allow Dylan O'Brien to fully recover from his injuries. We wish Dylan a speedy recovery and look forward to restarting production as soon as possible."
