'The Man in the High Castle' season 2 spoilers, plot news: Tate Donovan joins cast as mystery figure from Juliana's past, EP Dan Percival shares first scene for upcoming season

Production for Amazon's most-watched series "The Man in the High Castle" season 2 is currently in full swing, and a new face will join the dystopian thriller's cast lineup.
Actor Tate Donovan has been set to play a recurring role as George Dixon. A detailed character description was not revealed, but the mysterious character is said to be from Juliana's (Alexa Davalos) past. During the San Diego Comic-Con last weekend, executive producer Ridley Scott introduced a short clip from season 2 showing Juliana fleeing from her captors. The intense scene saw her successfully escaping from the trunk of a car, hurriedly running away from the new characters as they tried to shoot her.
In terms of the plot, the titular Man in the High Castle will finally be introduced according to Gizmodo. When Tagomi traveled to "our" reality in season 1 where the Allies won World War II, it will be revealed that he was not having a dream. "I was looking for such an answer in the first episode to why that happened," Tagomi's portrayer Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa said during the Comic-Con panel. He added that part of the plan for season 2 is to carefully unveil the story's layers by "not overblowing it and letting it work itself through several episodes and build through another dimension."
After Tagomi's time-travelling experience, co-executive producer Dan Percival confirmed in the panel that viewers will see more of it next season. "You will experience the alternate realities in Season 2," he stated. Percival also shared the first scene they shot for the next season, saying: "It opens in a school, and it's an ordinary day in an American high school, and we join Thomas getting off the bus, going into his class and seeing the girl he likes and settling into his classroom. Being asked to step forward to read the pledge, [He] very proudly goes up with his hand in his heart, and he pledges allegiance to the Fuhrer Adolf Hitler."
Amazon has yet to announce a premiere date for "The Man in the High Castle" season 2, but the alternate history drama is expected to return later this year.
