Several fans of the highly popular "The Legend of Zelda" game series are patiently waiting for the series' next installment. The upcoming title, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," has been teased by Nintendo earlier this year. Just recently, the Japanese gaming company released another trailer for the video game, spilling some interesting details that may possible link "Breath of the Wild" with the previous "Zelda" titles.

The latest "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" trailer was released on Nintendo Switch, and while the previous teasers only showed a glimpse of the new setting and characters, the latest one teased possible connections with the past "Zelda" installments. According to iDigital Times, a particular scene in the latest trailer is very similar to the popular 2006 title "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess."

Specifically, the scene in the trailer shows the character of Link, riding a horse and fighting the enemies using his sword. This scene was also featured in the trailer video for "Twilight Princess" many years ago, so the fans are now thinking that the upcoming game has something to do with this particular title.

Game N Guide reported that while there is no solid proof that "Breath of the Wild" and "Twilight Princess" are connected, the game creator once admitted that the upcoming game was inspired by the previous series.

Another past "Zelda" title possibly linked to "Breath of the Wild" is "The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening," as the latest Nintendo Switch trailer reveals a boss enemy that looks like King Moblin from the previous installment. Rumor has it that the upcoming game might also feature King Moblin throughout the game.

News Everyday reported that "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is still expected to be released next year. However, the fans should always be ready for possible changes in the schedule. To recall, "Twilight Princess" was originally scheduled to be released a year earlier than its 2006 launching as Nintendo added follow-up contents and porting to the Wii console. The same scenario might also happen with "Breath of the Wild," although Nintendo has no announcement yet regarding the game's exact release date.
