Nora Durst (Carrie Coon) faces yet another challenge when "The Leftovers" returns for its final season this spring.

The psychological thriller is just a few months away from its farewell season, and fans are now eager to see what's next for the Garvey family and their acquaintances. HBO recently released a new set of photos for season 3, and one of them shows Nora getting cozy in bed with Kevin (Justin Theroux). While the two characters appear relaxed, Nora is wearing an arm cast, leading to speculations that another bad break awaits Coon's troubled character.

Ahead of the hit HBO drama's last chapter, cast member Coon spoke with TV Line and shared some interesting teasers about the finale. The actress didn't give away any spoilers, but she teased that viewers will certainly be pleased with the eight-episode season.

"In my humble opinion, the ending is satisfying," she said during the Television Critics Association winter press tour last week. "There are a lot of directions the show could've taken, and, I feel in my Nora Durst heart, that they chose the right one. I approve of the direction the show went with," she added.

According to executive producer Damon Lindelof, season 3 might not feel like "The Leftovers" that fans are used to. Aside from being shot in new locations (Australia and Texas), the story will have a different flow. Lindelof noted that they are "infusing it with a certain degree of energy that's different" compared to the previous seasons. All of the show's series regulars are set to return, including Amy Brenneman, Christopher Eccleston, Liv Tyler, Margaret Qualley, Chris Zylka, and Janel Moloney. The entire Murphy clan, together with veteran actor Scott Glenn as Kevin's father, are also coming back for the program's swan song.

The third and final season of "The Leftovers" premieres in April 2017 on HBO. An exact release date has not been announced yet.
