To recap, last week's episode saw the kidnapped crew finally rescued, but the mission to save them came with a price. Five crew members were hostaged by pirate leader Takehaya (Hiroyuki Sanada) who wanted to keep them for their blood since they are immune to the virus. Tom Chandler (Eric Dane) came to rescue the rest of the team but in the process, three of their own died including Petty Officer Cruz (Ness Bautista).
In the upcoming episode titled "In the Dark," the whole crew of the USS Nathan James must work together to evade a huge threat. Back home, President Michener has to deal with a shocking revelation which puts him in a difficult situation once again. The official synopsis for episode 7 reads:
"The Nathan James must evade an overwhelming threat. A revelation in St. Louis puts President Michener in a terrible position."
A promo trailer for this week has been released, and it gives viewers an idea of what happens after Chandler's rescue mission. While on their way back to the U.S., Chandler talks to the pirate leader they captured, saying: "When we reach the States, you will be charged with war crimes..." The pirate cuts him off by saying, "Everyone will be dead by then." Just when the team thinks that the fight is over, they are alarmed by Chinese vessels quickly approaching the USS Nathan James without warning. Meanwhile, the final moments of the clip show a shocking revelation: the return of Dr. Scott's killer. He is still in jail because of the crime he committed, but he might have something new to say.
