'The Last Ship' season 3 spoilers: Chandler prepares for last stages of his plan, President Michener reflects on his role as country's leader in episode 6
Chandler's mission comes to an end as he begins preparing for the final stages of his plan while President Michener reflects on his role as the head of the country in the upcoming episode of "The Last Ship" season 3.
In the next episode titled "Dog Day," Tom Chandler will do everything he can to save the rest of his crew. With the ongoing crisis plaguing the U.S., the fate of President Michener will also be revealed. Based on the official synopsis for episode 6, Chandler's plan to take down the enemy will reach a very critical point. A lot of lives are on the line and he must execute his plan as soon as possible, but it remains to be seen if he will be successful or not.
On the political side of the story, President Michener's job as the country's leader is hanging in the balance. Recent events have put him in a difficult spot, and if things don't go according to plan, he might resort to stepping down as the president. At some point, he might be compelled to make tough decisions which could affect the country as a whole. Aside from the issues he has to face, he must also deal with the stress caused by the possibility of him losing his job. The press continuously hound him about withholding new information on the world's current state. People see individuals in office — particularly those in higher positions — as a beacon of hope. When things begin to go wrong, they will probably blame the president and it will only make matters worse.
In the promo trailer, a distraught Michener is seen preparing for his speech. He talks about his plan on making two speeches: one if the plan succeeds and one if everything falls apart. Chandler reaches the camp where his crew is being held hostage, but he will see a surprising discovery.
