'The Last of Us 2' release date, news: Game delayed for 'Uncharted 4' DLC

Game enthusiasts have been hyped up with the reports that Naughty Dog's highly successful open world shooter video game "The Last of Us" will have a new installment hitting the digital markets very soon. However, the latest reports may be a huge letdown for the fans of "The Last of Us" who are eagerly waiting for news regarding the follow-up game's development.
Recently, Naughty Dog creative director, Neil Druckmann has revealed that the game developer company is prioritizing the upcoming DLC release of their other successful video game installment "Uncharted 4." This would suggest that there will be no progress expected in the upcoming weeks for the development of "The Last of Us 2," as long as Naughty Dog is still working on the new "Uncharted" expansion pack.
"Our next focus is the single player (Uncharted 4) DLC and then, once we have enough resources, resurrect all those prototypes; see where we're at, see where the teams at, what they're excited for and go from there," Druckmann said in an interview with Games Radar. The upcoming "Uncharted 4" content pack is expected to be launched on May 10, and before that date, the whole creative team of Naughty Dog will be seen hands-on with the development of the said DLC before skipping to their other priorities, which include "The Last of Us 2."
Druckmann added that even though "Uncharted 4" is their top priority, he and his partner Bruce Straley have already formulated hefty of ideas for "The Last of Us 2," and given a clear schedule, "The Last of Us" fans can expect an interesting continuation of the adventures of Joel and Ellie, the original video game's primary characters.
Yibada noted that "The Last of Us" has achieved commercial and critical success, bagging a lot of recognitions and awards including the BAFTA Game of the Year in 2014 and VGX Award for Best Story in 2013. All these are enough reasons for Sony and Naughty Dog to come up with a second chapter at the soonest time possible.
