'The Incredibles 2' release date update, news: Pixar and Disney promise a good quality sequel
Disney Pictures has already confirmed the release of "The Incredibles 2," which is set to happen on June 21, 2019. However, other than the release date, no other details relevant to the movie have been announced by the production company.
When the original movie came out to cinemas in 2004, it was huge hit that people around the industry immediately hinted a sequel. Robert Iger, Disney CEO, announced the next installment officially in March 2015, which also indicated that writer/director, Brad Bird, will still be heading the project.
Meanwhile, Andrew Stanton, the director of the "Finding Dory" shared his thoughts about the upcoming sequel during an interview with iO9 Gizmodo. When Stanton was asked what fans can expect from the new movie, he said that the movie is going to surprise many fans.
"Well, look, it was in the movie from the first one," he said. "There was a big promise at the back end of the movie. Here we go. They're now a family of superheroes."
Pixar producer Lindsey Collins also said that director Bird is definitely aware of the fans' excitement regarding the next installment.
"Brad [Bird] is as good as they get," the producer said. "And I think he's very aware of how excited people are for "Incredibles 2" and I'm sure he feels a lot of the same pressure we felt about making sure that we're worthy of that kind of anticipation. And I think he takes it seriously. I'm, for one, excited to get back in that world."
During an interview last year, Brad said that the upcoming "Incredibles 2" is not going to be the same as other superhero movies. Fans will certainly see a major twist that they don't commonly see in this kind of genre.
No major revelation has been announced by Pixar and Disney so far. However, fans are positive that the two movie companies will provide a series of teasers as the release date gets nearer.
