'The Incredibles 2' release date rumors: Set for June 2019; who will be the next villain?
Disney confirmed two years ago that the hit Oscar-winning animated film "The Incredibles" will have a sequel, and fans got even more excited to see their favorite superhero family return to the big screen.

Io9 caught up with "Finding Dory" director Andrew Stanton where he talked about some details regarding the much-awaited sequel. Stanton is a part of Pixar's Brain Trust, which means that he is involved in the movies and stories that go through the organization. How will the new installment play out? "Well, look, it was in the movie from the first one," the director stated. "There was a big promise at the back end of the movie. 'Here we go. They're now a family of superheroes.'"
Much like "Finding Dory," the film is also a sequel that has been in the making for quite a long time. That being said, the film has some similarities with "Finding Dory" that he is currently working on. "Brad [Bird] is as good as they get," producer Lindsay Collins added. "And I think he's very aware of how excited people are for Incredibles 2 and I'm sure he feels a lot of the same pressure we felt about making sure that we're worthy of that kind of anticipation. And I think he takes it seriously. I'm, for one, excited to get back in that world." For the uninitiated, Brad Bird is the director of "The Incredibles."
Details about the plot are still being kept under wraps, but there are rumors which point to Dash as the next villain. According to reports, he might be the sequel's main antagonist which is an interesting twist in the plot since he is the eldest son of Bob and Helen Parr. If the theory becomes true, the family will definitely be divided. However, readers are advised to take it with a grain of salt as Disney has yet to give further official details about the film's story.
As of now, "The Incredibles 2" is scheduled to have a big screen premiere sometime around June 2019.
