'The Incredibles 2' release date, plot news update: Premiere set for July 2019, Frozone to return in next installment?
Disney's "The Incredibles" is possibly one of the best-selling animated films ever produced, and now fans can't wait to see their favorite crime-fighting superhero family return to the big screen.

The news of a sequel in the works broke out last March 2014, following the confirmation of Walt Disney Company CEO Bob Iger. Since then, details regarding the new film remained scarce, causing rumors that the sequel's production may have been stalled.
As noted by reports, director Brad Bird already confirmed that production is indeed in progress, stressing that he was just careful not to give away too much details to prevent the film from being just another "footnote or commentary on the current state of the superhero genre."
The upcoming film will also progress real-time, which means that the family's baby Jack-Jack will be in his pre-teens when they return. Rumor has it that he will turn out to be the strongest in the family, and he will find it difficult to take control of his powers. Someone will try to capitalize on his situation, manipulating the youngest Parr to become the villain in the story.
If one thing is for sure, most fans would like to see the return of the Parr family's long-time friend Lucius Best, who is popularly known as Frozone. The character is voiced by powerhouse actor Samuel L. Jackson, and he hints that the fan-favorite character might be back for the second installment.
"Every time I run into Brad, he always tells me Frozone is part of what's going on [in the sequel], so I have to believe that. I guess they could be The Incredibles without Frozone, but I think Frozone would be a wonderful addition to what's already there," said Jackson.
"The Incredibles 2" is set to premiere in the U.S. on June 21, 2019.
