'The Incredibles 2' release date news 2016: Disney promises to maintain quality of movie
More than a decade ago when it premiered in theaters, Disney Pixar's smash hit "The Incredibles" is set to return with an upcoming sequel in 2019. While the first movie has become so popular around the world and garnered very positive reviews from the critics, it is a challenge for Disney to create a follow-up movie at par with its predecessor, more so to top its achievements.

It may be hard to step up their game when they have a classic movie as big as "The Incredibles," but Disney will not let the fans down by maintaining the quality of all movies that they have ever produced, according to "Finding Dory" Director Andrew Stanton and Disney film producer, Lindsey Collins.
Stanton and Collins sat down for an interview with Slash Film and shared fresh details about the anticipated "The Incredibles" sequel. It has been reported the director of the original movie, Brad Bird, will be taking the directorial seat once again in the sequel. Collin expressed her confidence in Bird, saying that the film franchise is in good hands with him as the director. She said the Bird is aware of the huge expectation from the public. In spite of the pressure to live up to the first movie's hype, Collin expects the director to continue the momentum from his first work.
It was also revealed that Disney is being very careful in developing the plot for "The Incredibles 2." Stanton explained that the ending part of the first movie offered a lot of possibilities for a continuation. The fans can expect "The Incredibles 2" to build up from the potential story left by the first film.
"Well, look, it was in the movie from the first one... There was a big promise at the back end of the movie. 'Here we go. They're now a family of superheroes,'" Stanton said.
Cinema Blend reported that there is uncertainty on how "The Incredibles 2" will proceed with the story. There is a possibility that the sequel will pick up right where "The Incredibles" ended, or it could be set a couple of the years after the events of the first movie. A few rumors like the youngest Parr sibling, Jack-Jack Par, teaming up with Syndrome as the main antagonists. Yibada also noted that Samuel Jackson signed up with Disney Pixar to reprise the role of Frozone. His character is expected to take up a bigger role in the sequel compared to the first film.
