The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies Spoilers, Trailer: Spectacular Battle Scenes and More

"The Hobbit: The Battle of The Five Armies," the third and last movie in the Hobbit triology, will be released on Dec. 12 this year.
A new trailer for the film was released recently featuring an epic battle. As the name of the movie denotes, the battle will see five armies, one of which is composed of elves and another composed of the Orcs who are working for Sauron.
There are also scenes with giant bats which, according to Legolas (Orlando Bloom), were bred for war. The rest of the cast includes Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins, Ian McKellen as Gandalf the Grey, Benedict Cumberbatch as the voice of the dragon Smaug, Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel, and Richard Armitage as Thorin Oakenshield.
The movie itself starts after Smaug has left the mountains of Erebor. He then heads towards the town Esgaroth to take revenge on the people for helping the dwarfs reach Erebor.
The trailer further reveals that Smaug sets the town on fire. To save the people in the town, Bilbo and the dwarfs have to deal with the fire-breathing dragon and also fight off the Orcs dispatched by the Dark Lord Sauron/Necromancer.
Thorin Oakenshield, meanwhile, stays put in Erebor to guard its wealth. He does not try to save the town and people of Esgaroth while the other dwarfs in this group complain that they do like who he has become.
There is also Thranduil played by Lee Pace who is seen coming to Erebor and demanding that the dwarfs hand over something that belongs to him. Thranduil also brings along a huge Elven army which ends up attacking Erebor when he doesn't get what he wants.
Also in the movie are several other regular members of the Lord of the Rings franchise and the previous Hobbit movies, including Cate Blanchett, who plays the role of Galadriel.
