'The Good Wife' spin-off release date, spoilers: Premiere set for Spring 2017, story to explore Diane?

"The Good Wife" wrapped up its final season with an emotional and shocking finale, leaving viewers wanting for more. The good news is that fans need not worry because a spin-off series is underway and it will focus on Diane Lockhart and Lucca Quinn.
Set to air in CBS All Access, the storyline will pick up one year after the controversial slap scene between Diane and Alicia Florrick (Julianna Margulies). As fans can recall, Alicia asked Lucca to interfere with Diane and Kurt's (Gary Cole) married life, leaving Diane blindsided and feeling betrayed. Specific details about the upcoming show's storyline are still under wraps, but there are some loose ends from the original series which viewers hope to see resolved.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, one of the biggest questions for the spinoff is Diane's marital status. "The Good Wife" was not able to delve deeper into her marital status, but it will be interesting to see if she and Kurt ended up having a divorce. Once the new show airs, there is a possibility that she will be single once again. Her romantic life post-divorce will give fans a chance to see her in a different light and it will also open doors for new characters as love interests for the top litigator.
As for Lucca, she was introduced later in the original series which means that her character has a lot more layers to reveal. The former bond court attorney is known to be frank and carefree but there are definitely other sides of her that have to be seen. Lucca spent a lot of time listening to Alicia's stories about her affair, so the spinoff might see her having her own steamy romance as well.
The title fo the upcoming "The Good Wife" spin-off is yet to be announced, but the series will premiere in Spring 2017.
