'The Good Wife' season 7 update: Broadway actress Megan Hilty joins cast for the last few episodes

As "The Good Wife" nears its end with only a few episodes left, a new cast member in the name of Broadway actress Megan Hilty will join the cast. Hilty is best known as Ivy Lynn on the musical-drama TV series "Smash." According to TVLine, she will be in the American drama series to portray the role of Holly Westfall, "a business owner and rival of Diane's husband, Kurt McVeigh."
During a Super Bowl 50 commercial ad, it was announced that "The Good Wife" will end its run in season 7. With the show coming to a close, Chris Noth who plays Peter Florrick in the CBS series recently caught up with The Hollywood Reporter and shared his thoughts on Peter and Alicia's (Julianna Margulies) relationship. "I just thought, 'It's really about her journey as a single woman becoming independent and running a law firm,' but they've managed to remain together," Noth said. "It's been quite an intrepid relationship so I've gladly stayed for as long as it lasted. It's provided me with a really interesting seven years."
In the previous episode, Gov. Peter Florrick and his estranged wife Alicia faced a dramatic dilemma. Peter asked Alicia to hold off on publicly stating her request for a divorce, and stand by him until the investigation on his alleged wrongdoings is finished.
Since the pilot season, Alicia's goals have changed. Following the death of her lover Will Gardner and her budding romantic feelings for investigator Jason, she continues to show her authentic feelings as the show progresses. After she learned of Peter's awful confrontation with Jason, her request for a divorce felt long overdue. This makes the future episodes more exciting for the avid viewers of the show.
