The second half of Freeform's hit family drama "The Fosters" season 4 finally has a premiere date.

According to reports, the Adams-Foster clan returns to the small screen at the end of January 2017. The news comes with Freeform's announcement of the release date for "Switched at Birth" season 5, which will be starting just an hour after "The Fosters."

Meanwhile, star Maia Mitchell  was spotted heading out of Catch LA after a dinner date on Friday, Oct. 14. The 23-year-old actress, who plays the role of Callie, just recently began filming for the show's latest batch of episodes. In a social media post, "The Fosters" showrunner Bradley Bredeweg told fans that a January premiere date has been set, and it's only a matter of time before everyone knows about it. "The network just called us. Gave us our official date in January. Press release coming very soon. #ChangeIsGood #TheFosters," he wrote on Twitter.

Production of the acclaimed TV drama is currently in full swing, and actress Sherri Saum gave fans a glimpse of their usual filming day. In a photo she posted last week via Twitter, Saum is getting her hair done while sitting next to her on-screen daughter Mitchell, who doesn't look too happy.

"someone made raisin toast on set the aroma is divine and I don't understand how @MaiaMitchell can just sit there like nothing happened," Saum wrote. Mitchell replied to her tweet and said, "Raisin toast is my least favorite of the toasts so that really would explain this picture tbh."

The first half of season 4 left off on a sad note, particularly for Brandon (David Lambert) and Callie (Mitchell) who dealt with issues regarding their respective relationships. After a jealousy-fueled confrontation, Callie and her boyfriend AJ (Tom Williamson) decided to break up. Brandon, on the other hand, might be losing his girlfriend Cortney (Denyse Tontz) along with his dreams to study at Juilliard.

Keep tuning in to "The Fosters" season 4 which returns to the airwaves on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017 at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
