'The Fosters' season 4B news: New character coming; series not getting renewal?

American family drama television series "The Fosters" will be returning to the small screen soon for the second half of its fourth season. But while waiting, fans are tuned in to the spoilers all over the internet.

The first half of "The Fosters" season 4 ended with Nick Stratos (Louis Hunter) on house arrest again and Jesus Foster (Noah Centineo) saving his sister Mariana Foster (Cierra Ramirez) from her ex-boyfriend who wanted to abuse her. Unfortunately, a series of events led Nick to punch Jesus in the face.

Clearly, some further law enforcement is necessary in Anchor Beach and that's what "The Fosters" season 4B is going to do. According to reports, "Hart of Dixie" star John Marshall Jones will be joining the series for a recurring role. He will be playing the role of a cautious and hardworking detective with the last name Bruckner.

There is no word yet on what Detective Bruckner will be doing in town but CarterMatt is guessing that he will be adding some drama to Stef Foster's (Teri Polo) storyline.

He could also be involved in Callie Jacob's (Maia Mitchell) drama, considering what's going on in her life since the show left off. She found herself trapped in a car with the potential suspect for the murder of Mrs. Johnson.

Another thing to expect in the upcoming second half of the season is the consequences of Mariana's ADHD drug addiction, including poor grades and hallucinations. Brandon Foster (David Lambert) also found out that he lost his chance of getting into Julliard because of his SAT cheating scandal.

But even with the challenges going on in the lives of the Adam-Foster household, fans can be assured that the characters will find solutions to their predicaments. Executive producer Peter Paige said in an interview with EW that there is always hope in "The Fosters."

In other news, fans are still waiting for the official announcement of the drama series' renewal. Cancellation rumors have started going around due to the poor ratings that the show received. Fans will have to stay tuned for updates.

"The Fosters" season 4B premieres early next year.
