Production is currently underway for "The Flash" season 3, and it looks like aside from welcoming several new villains, there will be a long list of guest cast, too.
In last week's edition of Entertainment Weekly's (EW) spoiler room, showrunner Andrew Kreisberg hinted that viewers might be seeing more of the Black Flash (Teddy Sears) in the upcoming installment of "The Flash."
He said that Sears "was so much a part of the success of this show last season," which is why they are thinking of bringing him back. Nevertheless, he told EW that it's something that could happen in the future, as there are no immediate plans to write him into the arc yet.
Meanwhile, according to Comicbook.com, fans of the series can expect new faces to grace the show, one of which is 17-year-old actress Joey King. King has appeared in quite a number of films, including "The Conjuring," "The Dark Knight Rises," and "White House Down."
King will be playing the role of Magenta, a villain with violet-colored eyes and red-streaked hair. IGN described Magenta's alter ego, Frankie Kane, as a meta-human who's able to control metal. The character will debut in the third episode of "The Flash" season 3, and she might be part of the Flashpoint storyline.
In related news, Grant Gustin, who plays the titular character Flash/Barry Allen, has revealed not only the title of the upcoming season's fifth episode but also its writer and director in a Twitter post. Check it out below:
Apparently, episode 5 of season 3 will be titled "Monster" and will be helmed by Kim Miles, the show's long-time director of photography. On the other hand, Zack Stentz, whom the International Business Times said co-wrote the screenplay for the "Power Rangers" movie, will be the episode's writer.
"The Flash" season 3 premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 4, at 8 p.m. on The CW.
