'The Flash' season 3 plot spoilers, cast news 2016: Iconic DC villain Mirror Master joins cast, Grant Gustin hints 'Back to the Future' moment

"The Flash" returns for its third season later this year and aside from the Flashpoint story, the series will also introduce the iconic DC villain, Mirror Master.
Actor Grey Damon ("Aquarius" and "Friday Night Lights") has been cast as the popular bad guy from the DC universe who will cause trouble in Central City. Damon plays the role of egotistic "smooth criminal" Sam Scudder a.k.a. Mirror Master. After he discovers his ability to travel through any reflective surface, he goes out on a massive crime spree in order to prove that he is the greatest thief in Central City.
Season 3 will see the Flashpoint story arc wherein Barry makes a shocking decision to travel back in time to the night when Reverse Flash murdered his mother. He does the unthinkable and saves his mother's life without fully realizing the huge consequences of his actions — ultimately altering his past and changing the course of his future.
In the last episode of DC All Access, lead star Grant Gustin revealed that Barry will be the only one aware of the change in time. When it all dawns on him, he will eventually make an effort to bring everything back to its rightful place."His memories are starting to get replaced from the previous timeline with new memories of graduating high school and graduating college, just moments with his family," Gustin explained. "And when he realizes that those memories are replacing other memories, that's when he starts to realize how selfish of a decision this was and maybe he should find a way to put things back to how they were."
The actor also hinted a "Back to the Future" moment for the Scarlet Speedster, adding, "In the same sense that he's forgetting a lot of memories, it means he's forgetting his powers too. It's like he's having a full Back to the Future moment where essentially his hand is disappearing in front of him."
