'The Flash' season 3 episode 7 spoilers: Killer Frost emerges; Candice battles Flash and Vibe

Killer Frost resurfaces in the upcoming episode of The CW's hit superhero action drama "The Flash" season 3.

Titled "Killer Frost," the show's seventh episode will see one character's powers take control of her. According to the official synopsis for episode 7, Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) uses her powers in an attempt to rescue Barry (Grant Gustin). However, as her mother initially predicted, her effort to save her friend unleashes her inner Killer Frost.

While searching for Dr. Alchemy, Killer Frost goes on a rampage all over the city. After kidnapping Julian (Tom Felton), she battles it out with both The Flash and Vibe (Carlos Valdes). Elsewhere, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) and H.R. (Tom Cavanagh) take some time to have a heart to heart talk.

Although Dr. Alchemy and Savitar have been confirmed as this season's main villains, IGN suggests that the role is best suited to Killer Frost. Aside from giving the show a fresh approach, Killer Frost has great powers to match the Flash and enough connection with Barry to give viewers a good character drama.

"Killer Frost" was directed by Kevin Smith and he has been sharing teasers via social media about the episode since he began working on it last September. In an Instagram post, he shared a photo of him with Panabaker and Valdes, hinting that episode 7 will be an emotional ride for fans.

"Get your tissues ready, Super friends: you'll need them not just for all the Feels but for all the geekgasmic moments involving major reveals too! I love this episode so much: EVERYONE gets a killer scene in which they show off their acting chops (and some folks get to show off abilities and super powers far beyond those of mortal men & women)!" an excerpt from Smith's lengthy message reads.
