Wentworth Miller returns as Captain Cold, while Mirror Master (guest star Grey Damon) and the Top (guest star Ashley Rickards) battles with the scarlet speedster in the upcoming episode of The CW's hit superhero drama "The Flash" season 3.

Titled "The New Rogues," next week's episode will see the show stage another crossover as a hero from "Legends of Tomorrow" makes an appearance. According to the official synopsis for episode 4, Barry (Grant Gustin) continues to train Jesse Quick (guest star Violett Beane). When a new meta-human, Mirror Master, suddenly enters the picture, Barry lets her tag along to fight with him. Mirror Master arrives at the scene and teams up with his old partner, Top, to hunt down Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and settle an old score with him. Meanwhile, Jesse immediately joins the chase but refuses to follow one of Barry's orders which ends up with catastrophic consequences.

As fans can recall, Miller's Captain Cold died in The CW's "Legends of Tomorrow" this past spring. How can he be in Central City after he died when the Oculus blew up? Speaking wIith TV Line, executive producer Todd Helbing explained how the hero managed to resurface after his demise. Despite being tight-lipped on how Captain Cold makes his way to Central City, the EP did reveal that the gun-wielding rogue's return plays a significant role in the introduction of a new pair of villains.

"It's an origin story for Mirror Master and Top, and Cold's role in that all makes sense when you see how he was brought back," he said.

"The Flash" season 3 episode 4 marks Captain Cold's first "post-mortem" appearance. Earlier this week, it was revealed that Captain Cold is slated to make his "Legends of Tomorrow" comeback at midseason when he joins the supervillain group Legion of Doom alongside Malcolm Merlyn, Damien Darhk and Eobard Thawne.
