'The Fall' season 3 release date, spoilers: Premiere set for Autumn, new promotional images revealed, is Paul Spector alive?

BBC's hit crime thriller "The Fall" kept its viewers on edge because of notorious serial killer Paul Spector, but it's only a matter of months before the series returns for its third and final season.
Season 2 left off with Paul (Jamie Dornan) in a terrible state after being shot by Jimmy Tyler. DS Stella Gibson (Gillian Anderson) held a helpless Paul in her arms after being riddled with bullets, and it remains to be seen what happened to him after the shooting. BBC released new promotional photos of the third season and by the looks of it, Paul is not in custody which could mean that the chase is on again. However, there is also a possibility that the images are just flashback scenes which make the plot quite difficult to guess.
The third and final season will have a five-episode run and it will still be filmed in Belfast. Looking back at how the dark tale captivated viewers, series creator and writer Allan Cubitt is excited to finally tie the loose ends in the story. "I've been on a very exciting journey over the last five years with Stella Gibson and Paul Spector - the central characters of The Fall - and I'm thrilled to have recently started filming the third installment of their macabre, obsessive dance of death. Gillian and Jamie have lived and breathed those characters during that time and I've been incredibly well-served as both writer and director by their stellar performances," he said (via BBC).
In terms of how the ending will play out, Cubitt would rather not give any clue and let the fans see for themselves. "Obviously I don't want to give anything away about how the third series will end but I can say that I am looking forward to working with both Gillian and Jamie again in the near future!" he added.
Along with the two lead cast members, new characters will be introduced including Krister Henriksson (Wallander), Aidan McArdle (Mr. Selfridge), Ruth Bradley (Humans), Aisling Bea (Trollied) and Richard Coyle (Crossbones). Original cast members Colin Morgan, John Lynch, Valene Kane, Stuart Graham, Bronagh Waugh and Aisling Franciosi are also set to reprise their respective roles.
"The Fall" is expected to premiere sometime in autumn on BBC Two.
