'The Elder Scrolls Online' news: game available for free over weekend, Xbox One players will have to wait

Bethesda has been offering "The Elder Scrolls Online" for free since yesterday through this weekend for PlayStation 4 (PS4), PC and Mac gamers. Unfortunately, the free offer will not be available for Xbox One just yet.
In a statement on the game's official website, developers announced, "We're thrilled to announce our very first Free Play Weekend for The Elder Scrolls Online on PlayStation 4. This is a great opportunity to jump into the giant world of ESO and try it for yourself."
The game has been available for download since Tuesday, Nov. 15, on Steam for PC and Mac players while PlayStation 4 players started downloading yesterday, Nov. 16 via PlayStation Network.
For gamers who are still yet to enjoy the online game, it is still available for download. They just have to go to the "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" via PlayStation Store or Steam, install the game and create an account.
It is important to note, though, that the free-play weekend offer of "The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited" only provides access to the main campaign and not on the post-release downloadable content (DLC) areas.
Players will also acquire 500 crowns that can be used to buy items on Crown Store such as costumes pets and helpful scrolls.
If after the free-play weekend offer the player decides to continue and decides to buy the game, he can pick off right where he left with his characters, Crown Packs or any items bought on Crown Store, and any progress made.
Developers also announced, "Playing ESO during the Free Play Weekend also qualifies you to enter our One Tamriel "Trip of a Lifetime" sweepstakes! Five lucky winners will choose a travel package that will take them to one of five exotic locations. Each package will include full accommodations, meals, and exciting adventure excursions with expert local guides!"
Meanwhile, Xbox One players must not sulk as Bethesda also promised to bring the free play weekend offer to the console and that it is currently "in the works."
For PlayStation 4 players, the free play weekend is live until Sunday, Nov. 20, at 11:59 p.m. EST, while PC and Mac players can access the game until Monday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m. EST.
