'The Elder Scrolls 6' release date news 2016: Upcoming 2 big projects from Bethesda may further delay 'TE6' release

It has been quite a long time since the last installment of "The Elder Scrolls" game series was released. The fifth installment of the highly successful video game franchise, "Skyrim," was first released in 2011, and since then, the fans are wondering when will Bethesda release the follow-up game. Many from the gaming community were delighted upon the rumors that came up earlier this year, suggesting that Bethesda will be working on the sixth "Elder Scrolls" game in the coming years. Unfortunately, the fans need to be patient enough as "The Elder Scrolls 6" might be coming in a little later than they think.

According to iSports Times, "The Elder Scrolls 6" will happen in the future, but the exact release date of the sequel is still up in the air. Bethesda has not yet given its official announcement that they are already developing the game. To recall, Bethesda game director Todd Howard already revealed in an interview with IGN that the follow-up game after "Skyrim" is already in the early stages of development. At the same time, Howard balanced out the hype with a reminder that the fans must not raise their expectations too high just yet.

There are rumors pointing to a 2018 release date for "The Elder Scrolls 6," but these claims must be taken with a grain of salt as Bethesda has not yet confirmed the tentative release of the sequel. Still, the fans could not count on 2018 just yet especially that Bethesda will also be working on two game projects that may be as huge as the upcoming "Elder Scrolls" installment. iSports Times reported that the other two big projects may arrive before Bethesda even releases "The Elder Scrolls 6." With this, the fans can expect a longer period of waiting.

Perhaps the only hope that the fans can rely on as of the moment is the fact that Bethesda is interested in creating "The Elder Scrolls 6," not to mention that Bethesda has been starting to brainstorm for the new exciting contents of the sixth installment. iTech Post reported that the "Skyrim" follow-up may be heavily based on Bethesda's recent game franchise, "The Dark Souls." There are also rumors that "TE6" will be a direct continuation of "Skyrim," but Bethesda has yet to reveal their plans for the sequel's storyline.
