'The Crow' reboot release date news update: Jason Momoa to star in reboot
Production for the upcoming reboot film of "The Crow" will start in January next year. After so much speculation about the film, fans finally have more details.
Filming was supposed to start in 2015 but it was postponed because Relativity Media filed for bankruptcy. After exiting the issue, the film reportedly became a high-priority project since the production studio is looking to redeem its reputation.

For months, rumors have been circulating that "Game of Thrones" and "Aquaman" actor Jason Momoa will be starring in director Corin Hardy's upcoming film reboot of "The Crow." His part has only been confirmed recently when the director and the actor appeared together to seal the deal.
Last month, Momoa posted a photo with the director on Instagram. He wrote, "The only way to officially seal the deal as men is a pint of black beauty." The star even used the hashtags "#dreamjob" and "#cantwaittotelltheworld" to express his excitement about the project.
Before Momoa, the shortlist of actors considered for the main character included Bradley Cooper, Mark Wahlberg, James McAvoy, Tom Hiddleston and Jack Huston.
"Boardwalk Empire" actor Jack Huston was initially cast for the role but declined due to conflicts in schedule.
"The Crow" will be a new film adaptation of the comic book series written by James O'Barr in 1989. It was turned into a film adaptation in 1994 by Alex Proyas. The film featured Brandon Lee as the lead character, Eric Draven.
The upcoming adaptation will reportedly stay true to O'Barr's comic book series. For the uninitiated, "The Crow" followed the story of musician Eric Draven who was brutally murdered along with his fiancée. Draven rose from the dead and assumed the form of a crow to track his murderers and carry out revenge.
