Liz's (Megan Boone) loyalties are put to the test in the upcoming episode of NBC's mystery action drama "The Blacklist" season 4.

Titled "The Lindquist Concern," this week's episode might see Liz being compelled to betray Red (James Spader) after discovering a shocking secret. According to the official synopsis, Liz and Red's fractured relationship will yet again be tested. Red continues searching for Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen) and this time, he enlists Kirk's hematologist, Dr. Sebastian Reifler, to find his whereabouts. However, there is a possibility that Liz will do something to intercept Red once she realizes that he might be lying to her again.

In the promo clip released by NBC, Liz discovers a DNA report suggesting that Red has been lying to her about her family background. Additionally, Liz becomes very desperate to find Agnes. Her recent discovery about Red and the stress brought by Agnes' kidnapping eventually leads her to be more reckless while attempting to rescue her young daughter.

Liz is still trying to figure out who is telling her the truth about her past: Red or Kirk. Speaking with TV Guide, series creator Jon Bekenkamp explained that viewers have all the information Liz has and there might be "clues" in every episode to help viewers figure things out on their own.

"... yes, there are answers woven into everything that's happening right now, and I think when you look back on the story ... hopefully, the audience will be able to understand that we're playing fair with them and that the truths are being laid out as these episodes progress," he said.

Liz's mother was previously seen in a flashback as she recalled her childhood. According to Bokenkamp, there is a chance that she could still be alive. "Well, they never did find her body. That is true," he continued. "She, as the story goes, walked off into the water and committed suicide in Cape May, and sort of washed away. But it is true that her body was never found."

The fourth season of "The Blacklist" airs every Thursday night at 10 p.m. ET on NBC.
