'The Blacklist' season 4 spoilers: Liz to know more about her past through Alexander Kirk; Megan Boone hints Liz's shocking discovery

"The Blacklist" premiered its fourth season last week with an intense cat-and-mouse chase, but the action doesn't stop there as more revelations about Liz's (Megan Boone) past will be unveiled in the coming episodes.
Alexander Kirk's (Ulrich Thomsen) arrival certainly provides a wealth of information about Liz's past, her mother Katerina Rostova (Lotte Verbeek), and her mysterious connection to Red (James Spader). In a recent interview with TV Guide, series creator Jon Bokenkamp revealed that Liz's knowledge of Kirk as her father will significantly change her perspective about everything.
"This is somebody who has knowledge of Red's past, and his connection to Liz in a way that nobody in the series has ever really had before," he explained. "He's going to open Liz's eyes to her past in a way that we have yet to do on the series, and I think it's going to be really compelling."
As for Liz and Red's dynamic this season, Bokenkamp describes it as a "real yin and yang." Although their conflict will continue, the creator notes that the two characters will in some way find a way to move forward and work together to solve cases. Liz's FBI colleagues, on the other hand, still feel betrayed after finding out that she faked her own death, and Bokenkamp hinted that each member of the team will react in very specific and unexpected ways.
Now that "The Blacklist" is inching closer to revealing exactly who Red is to Liz, she will make a shocking discovery about the truth."What comes to light is that it's not really Reddington bringing all of this upon her, it's her own history and where she comes from," Boone told Entertainment Weekly. "Something you start to realize through season 4 is she was strapped with this from birth."
The fourth season of "The Blacklist" airs every Thursday night at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
