'The Blacklist' season 4 air date, spoilers news: Tom escapes Alexander Kirk's men to search for Liz

"The Blacklist" returns to the small screen two weeks from now, and Elizabeth "Liz" Keen (Megan Boone) is not the only one in jeopardy when the thrilling story picks up in season 4.
To recap, season 3 left off with the shocking revelation that Liz faked her death to get away from Red (James Spader). Tom (Ryan Eggold) knew about his wife's secret and while Red was using every resource in his arsenal to hunt down his longtime nemesis Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen), Tom and baby Agnes hopped on a plane to meet Liz in Cuba. The last moments of the finale saw Tom arriving in Liz's apartment only to discover she was gone. Red and Mr. Kaplan (Susan Blommaert) also boarded their own flight to Cuba, but Tom and baby Agnes were already taken by Alexander Kirk's men.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Eggold hinted what lies ahead for his character when the series returns. "I open season 4 locked in a trunk, which is not a good place to be," he said. Tom may be in a life-threatening situation but it won't be long until he escapes his captors and searches for Liz. "At the end of season 3, Liz and I got the briefest of glimpses of what it would be like to live that idyllic dream as a family on a beach in Cuba, and then it's taken away," he continued. "So having tasted it, the stakes are higher. I don't think there's anything that Tom wouldn't do to get them both back."
With Alexander Kirk's arrival in the story and all the sinister forces around, a happy ending for Tom and Liz is still far from happening. If one thing is for certain, Tom is committed to fight for his family and do everything it takes to save his wife and child.
Catch the season 4 premiere of "The Blacklist" on Thursday, Sept. 22 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
