Fans of NBC's popular suspense drama series "The Blacklist" were left in a state of shock following the intense new episode of the third season. While there was a glimpse of hope when Liz (played by Megan Boone) successfully delivered a healthy baby girl even after a car accident, the last minutes showed Liz deteriorating until she succumbed to the complications of giving birth and accident-inflicted wounds.

The latest episode of "The Blacklist" has Liz and Tom (played by Ryan Eggold) on the run after the cunning Mr. Soloman (played by Edi Gathegi) constantly pursued them anywhere they went. The hot wheel chase and action became so intense that Liz and Tom found themselves in a car crash that almost killed them on the spot. However, Liz appeared to have survived the accident at first before her condition went downhill and lead to her monumental death scene.

While the final moments of Liz in Episode 18 were so dramatic and impactful to viewers, there are some fans who questioned the shocking turn of events. According to a report from the International Business Times, some fans could not believe that the show would suddenly kill a major character. There were no hints that Boone will be leaving the show during the middle of the season, and people thought that her character would still be of greater importance in the upcoming episodes.

Amid the viewers' doubts, Amir Arison, who plays the role of Aram in Season 3, had an interview with Entertainment Weekly and revealed that the following episode after the tragic Episode 18 will not feature Liz's funeral. Fans may have to wait for a few more episodes to confirm whether their conspiracy theory about Liz's fake death to possibly mislead Mr. Soloman is actually true.

"Episode 320 is where the Task Force deals with her death," he explained to the outlet. "In episode 319, the story focuses on Red (played by James Spader) and him dealing with his past, his history, and his grief," Arison said.

In a separate interview with Entertainment Weekly, James Spader gave his insights about Boone's departure from "The Blacklist." He maintained that the events in Episode 18 are real and Liz is actually dead, something that would definitely throw off the fans hoping to see Boone's character alive.

"It was very apparent quite early on in the start of filming for the season, even though she was not able to make an announcement and was honoring the requisite grace period of a first trimester of not speaking of it or sharing it, it was apparent to most of us that Megan was pregnant. It was apparent to me within the first month or so of shooting and yet I don't think she really acknowledged it until considerably later than that," Spader revealed.
