'The Blacklist' season 3 finale spoilers, plot news: Will Red's longtime nemesis Alexander Kirk bring shocking secrets from his past?

The third season of NBC's "The Blacklist" is slowly inching its way to the finale, and someone from Red's past will come back to haunt him.
TV Line's Michael Ausiello teased of the finale, stating, "In the Season 3 finale, "Alexander Kirk" — named for Red's longtime nemesis, to be played by Banshee's Ulrich Thomsen — Red will experience a betrayal at the hands of someone very unexpected."
According to Entertainment Weekly, Thomsen was tapped to play the latest villain in the show, who also happen to be someone who Red knows from way back. The actor famous for his works in "Alias" and "Fringe" will play the character of Alexander Kirk, a multi-national businessman who is described to be "charismatic" and "extremely reclusive." He works in the global energy industry, and by the use of his resources and power, he will do everything he can to take down his longtime enemy Raymond Reddington (James Spader). In the last few episodes, viewers will see how they know each other as well as their history filled with betrayal and lies, since Kirk is apparently linked to one important secret in Red's life.
As for Liz's death, rumor has it that she will be back before the season ends. Fans have been speculating that her death was staged, since Red did it before. According to the speculation, Mr. Kaplan is covering up Liz's survival, and he did not want Red to know anything about it.
The official synopsis for episode 23 "Alexander Kirk, Conclusion" reads: "As Reddington and the task force close in on the person responsible for Liz's death, a shocking betrayal leaves them racing to save one of their own."
