Two leading characters in NBC's "The Blacklist" crime drama series -- Alan Fitch (played by Alan Alda) and Berlin (Peter Stormare) – met their end on Monday in the action-packed episode titled "The Decembrist." "The Blacklist" airs every Monday at 10/9c on NBC.

The series is focused on the criminal Raymond "Red" Reddington (James Spader), who agrees to cooperate with the FBI as long as he gets to work with Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone).

In the mid-season finale, the FBI is on the track of "The Decembrist." Berlin and Red began to work together after Red delivered Berlin's daughter to him, proving that he did not kill her. After this Red and Berlin managed to track down a man in Moscow who they suspect to be "The Decembrist." However it turns out that he was just working for Fitch.

Meanwhile more is revealed about Tom (Ryan Eggold), who has been held captive by Liz since informing everyone that she had killed him. In this episode Tom kills a harbor master when he discovers Tom is being held prisoner.

As for Fitch, he died when a bomb placed around his neck by Berlin and his group exploded. However, before he died he requested to speak to Red. During the talk he informed Red that he needs to find a safe and gives him the combination to open it. But the bomb went off before he could reveal where the safe was located.

Red went on meet his former rival Berlin who was celebrating the death of Fitch. They shared a drink, after which Red suddenly drew his gun and fatally shot him.

As for Liz, it has been frequently hinted that she is actually Red's daughter although Red refuses to acknowledge it. The mid-season episode has a very important plot twist which revealed that Tom was actually recruited by Red to be around Liz. However, Red warns Tom as he provides him with a getaway package that "You are never to see her again."
