'The Big Bang Theory' Season 10 spoilers news: First episode to introduce Penny's mom

Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Sheldon (Jim Parsons) in \"The Big Bang Theory\" | CBS

The character of Kaley Cuoco in the hit comedy TV series "The Big Bang Theory" is a very fun and interesting character that complements the nerdy behavior of the show's lead players, although the fans may have known just a little part of Penny's life over the past nine seasons. However, the first episode of "The Big Bang Theory" Season 10 is expected to introduce a very important character in Penny's life, which is none other than her mother.

As reported by  E! News, the announcement of adding Penny's mom in the upcoming tenth season happened at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con last weekend, where the show's executive producer and showrunner Steven Molaro revealed that actress Katey Sagal has been cast to play the role of Susan, the mysterious mother of Penny.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Cuoco and Sagal will be on a TV project together. In fact, the two actresses already played mother and daughter roles in ABC's past comedy TV series "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter." The said series run from 2002 to 2005.

Furthermore, Sagal's character is described to be "neurotic" and "stressed out" with her life. Susan is said to live with Penny's brother named Randall, who happens to be a former drug dealer and ex-convict. He might be the source of Penny's mom's issues, although Randall is expected to be a "cheerful" character. "30's Rock" actor Jack McBrayer will play the role of Penny's brother. To recall, Penny's father was already introduced in "The Big Bang Theory," played by Keith Carradine.

On the other hand, Cinema Blend previously reported that Season 10 might be the last chapter of the series. "The Big Bang Theory" star Kunal Nayyar, who plays the role of Raj, said in an interview that most of the main cast's contracts are expiring after Season 10, and he personally has no idea what will happen after the finale of the tenth season.

"Look, next season, as it stands on our contract, could be the last season of Big Bang Theory," said Nayyar at the MCM Comic Con in London. "To be completely honest, I know people are gonna want to know what happens after season 10. I don't know what's going to happen."

However, "The Big Bang Theory" co-creator Chuck Lorre told the Hollywood Reporter that he and his entire team are always willing to write more episodes for the show as long as the fans are still enjoying what they offer. He further stated that the fun story of "The Big Bang Theory" is "worth continuing."
