'The Big Bang Theory' season 10 news and updates: Penny's mother and Howard's father to finally be introduced?
CBS' hit sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" recently concluded its ninth season with an interesting episode, and fans are already curious as to how the story will unfold after the surprise ending involving Mary and Alfred.
One of the highlights of season 10 might be Penny and Leonard's much-awaited formal wedding ceremony. As fans know, the couple has been previously married but none of their close friends and family were there to witness the event. Since they want to make it up to their loved ones, they will have another wedding with the people very dear to them. Penny's mother and brother are also expected to make their first appearance in the show. However, showrunner Steve Molaro does not want fans to get their hopes up this early because they are still working on how the plot will take shape. "It's a little early to say for sure, but we would very much like to meet Penny's mom and her brother, as well," he said.
Howard's father remains to be introduced as well, and Molaro confirmed that they are currently working on some ideas. "It's premature to talk about but we have a couple of fun ideas," the showrunner discussed. "Howard's father has not been at the top of that list but it's always floating around. If and when the time is right, we'll dig into it."
In terms of where the story will pick up on, showrunner Steve Molaro mentioned that a time jump is less likely to happen, but the plan might still change. "The plan for now, and it's not set in stone, is that we're coming right back into the situation that was created the night before [with their nightcap]," said Molaro.
As of this writing, the network has yet to announce an official release date for "The Big Bang Theory" season 10.
