'The Big Bang Theory' season 10 episode 9 spoilers, news: Sheldon can't contain his jealousy; Christopher Lloyd confirmed to guest star

Sheldon (Jim Parsons) struggles to contain his jealousy when a co-worker wins an award in the upcoming episode of the hit CBS sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" season 10.
Titled "The Geology Elevation," next week's episode will see the return of a notable guest star. According to the official synopsis for episode 9, Sheldon is green with envy when a Caltech geologist named Bert (Brian Posehn) wins the MacArthur Genius fellowship. Elsewhere, Wolowitz finds an old remote control Stephen Hawking action figure he previously invented. Hawking, who has previously graced the show, will return to guest star as himself.
CBS recently released a new promo clip for episode 9, featuring how Sheldon and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) got accidentally hurt. "Next Thursday, professional jealousy can be hazardous," the background voice teases. In the clip, Sheldon complains to Leonard and says he can't believe someone in the Geology department surpassed his achievements. "If rock is so great, how come paper beats it?" a frustrated Sheldon asks Leonard as he holds a big rock. The next scene cuts to the duo going home, with Sheldon limping and Penny (Kaley Cuoco) worried about them. Sheldon explained he injured his foot after kicking a rock, while Leonard mentioned he had a nosebleed for laughing too hard at Sheldon.
After Hawking's guesting stint, the series will welcome yet another famous personality as a guest star: Christopher Lloyd. Details on the "Back to the Future" actor's role and storyline are being kept under wraps, but CBS has confirmed that his episode will air on Dec. 1.
"We're so excited to be working with Christopher Lloyd, and think we've created a fun part that fans will really enjoy," said the show's executive producers in a press statement.
