Idris Elba, who plays Heimdall in the Thor film franchise, recently let slip that he along with Tom Hiddleston, who plays the villainous Loki, is going to be part of "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," which will hit the big screen on May 1, 2015.

Elba mentioned this only in passing and did not elaborate on the extent to which he is involved in the film. Despite this, netizens spread his comments which caught like wildfire worldwide.

In the Thor film franchise, Heimdall is the guardian of the Bifrost that acts as a bridge between the nine realms. Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth) and other characters use this bridge to travel from Asgard to other realms and to Earth as well.

Elba made his comment in an interview he provided to the Telegraph. During the interview, Elba at first hinted that he is working on a "superhero film." Later in the interview he confirmed that "I'm in Avengers," adding that "I'm doing a scene with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston."

Tom Hiddleston and Marvel have not broken their silence about the presence of Loki and Heimdall in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron." Elba's comments are the only indication that they will be included in the plot.

Screenrant explains that "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" wrapped shooting a couple of months back and that over 19,000 people were involved in the making of the film. With the huge number of people involved in the movie, leaks about it are bound to happen, Screenrant added.

Marvel recently announced that Loki will be making an appearance in the third Thor film, "Thor: Ragnarok," which is scheduled for release in 2017.

The news that Loki will be making an appearance in "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" could mean that his role in "Avengers: Infinity War" Part 1 and Part 2 could be significant and play a part in Thanos acquiring the Infinity stones and completing the Infinity Gauntlet.
