'The Affair' season 3 spoilers, cast news update: French actress Irène Jacob joins cast, Noah to have new love interest

Noah (Dominic West) will meet a new love interest when Showtime's critically-acclaimed drama "The Affair" returns for its third season later this year.
French actress Irène Jacob has been recently cast as Juliette Le Gall, the new woman Noah becomes involved with. Hiding from secrets of her own, she helps Noah recover from a traumatic event in the past and process his feelings better.
Some of Jacob's previous acting credits include "Incognito," "U.S. Marshals," "Victory," "The Secret Garden" and "The Double Life of Veronique" where she won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival. She also starred in the last installment of the popular film trilogy "Three Colors" which is directed by Krzysztof Kieslowski.
Further details on the third season's plot are still under wraps, but production in New York is currently in full swing. Season 2 left off with Noah still in a relationship with Alison (Ruth Wilson). However, in order to protect his ex-wife Helen (Maura Tierney), Noah unexpectedly gave a false confession in court. No word yet on how Noah will meet Juliette but she will certainly be around for the whole season.
"The Affair" explores the psychological/emotional effects of an extramarital relationship involving Noah Solloway and Alison Lockhart after they cross paths in a small town in Long Island. Alison is a young diner waitress struggling to make ends meet with her rancher husband Cole. After her child's sudden death, she tries to deal with her marriage as it slowly falls apart.
Noah, on the other hand, is a settled schoolteacher/writer who already had one novel published and is struggling to complete a second book. He is happily married and has four children but feels resentful of being dependent on his wealthy father-in-law.
Tune in for all-new episodes of "The Affair" season 3 which premieres on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 10/9c on Showtime.
