'The Affair' season 3 air date, cast & spoilers news: Helen gets new boyfriend; 'Ray Donovan' star Guy Burnet lands recurring role

Helen (Maura Tierney) will meet a new love interest when hit Showtime drama "The Affair" returns for season 3 next month, but this doesn't mean she won't have any lingering feelings left for her former husband Noah (Dominic West).
In an interview, Tierney hinted that a three-year time jump will happen in the plot, picking up on the events after Scotty's (Colin Donnell) death and Noah taking the fall for the two women in his life who were responsible for the murder. Helen meets a new man, but it seems she has not yet fully moved on from her ex-husband. Noah also has a new love interest and she will be portrayed by French actress Irène Jacob.
"It is three years later. She has a boyfriend. She's with Vic, Dr. Ullah [Omar Metwally]," she told Yahoo! TV. "They have an interesting relationship that is clear, but unclear at the beginning of the season. Everyone has moved on in a way. All of the characters are in a different place. There's a new love interest for Noah. Again, the characters are continuing to diverge, their stories are getting more separate."
Meanwhile, "Ray Donovan" star Guy Burnet recently landed a recurring role in the series. He will play the role of Mike Cornwall, a graduate student who behaves selfishly and irresponsibly in his sexual relationships with women. He will cross paths with Noah, but it remains to be seen how significant his role will be in Noah's life.
"The Affair" is a riveting drama which explores the theme of extramarital relationship and how it psychologically affects everyone involved. The story is told through different points of view: the man, the woman and their respective spouses. Filming for season 3 in New York is currently in full swing.
"The Affair" season 3 premieres on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 10 p.m. EST on Showtime.
