Terror Plot to Bomb Set of 'Game of Thrones' in N.Ireland Foiled

Authorities in Northern Ireland have reportedly foiled a terrorist plot targeting guards securing the set of the "Game of Thrones."
The Hollywood Reporter said Republic Movement-affiliated terrorists affiliated with the Republic movement planned to leave a bomb next to a catering unit at the Paint Hall Titanic Studios.
The catering unit, the Belfast Telegraph said, was where the security guards, most of whom were former police officers and members of the British army, would gather for meals.
The Irish newspaper said the plot was uncovered after a tip-off from an informant, who contacted a former police officer who tipped politician Sammy Wilson and the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
After the plot was uncovered, a sophisticated security operation was put in place to protect personnel on the set, forcing the terrorists to abort their plan, the Belfast Telegraph said.
"Security around Paint Hall was visibly increased and because of this the dissidents never went ahead with the plan," a source told the paper.
Detectives said it's likely that a handful of sympathizers on the "Game of Thrones" crew gave the terrorists information about the former security force members' work routines.
"The dissidents initially got word that a number of ex-Royal Ulster Constabulary and army personnel worked at the studios," a police source told the Telegraph, according to the New York Post.
"They were even told the exact job in which most of them were employed and the catering unit where they took their lunch and tea at the same time every day," it added.
A previously unreported terror plot to strike the "Game of Thrones" set in Northern Ireland was allegedly foiled months ago thanks to an informant who tipped off police.
But sources from HBO told The Hollywood Reporter that the alleged plot was "totally false" and that it "never happened."
