Televangelist Creflo Dollar Cancels Fundraising Campaign for $65M Plane

Televangelist Creflo Dollar has reportedly shut down his fundraising campaign to buy a $65 million jet.
Dollar, founder of World Changers Church International, received widespread media coverage last week when he posted an online campaign seeking to raise $300 from 200,000 followers so he may purchase a Gulfstream G650 airplane. Dollar explained on his website that his previous plane had been used for ministry purposes for over a decade and needed to be replaced.
According to The Christian Post, Dollar and his ministry team have been travelling "commercially" since his current Gulfstream Aerospace G-1159A airplane experienced landing gear issues while at a London airport.
Since receiving widespread media coverage for his fundraiser last week, the fundraising campaign has been deactivated online. Juda Engelmayer, the publicist representing Creflo Dollar Ministries, told The Christian Post that there is currently no plan to purchase a new plane.
"He's gonna continue traveling commercial. And if and when he obtains another jet it's gonna be used for ministry purposes, just like the current one," said Engelmayer.
Engelmayer added that while they're not currently looking to purchase a plane, they may consider buying an aircraft if the timing is right.
"If one comes along that is properly priced and is sufficient and workable perhaps, but right now there is nothing that they are looking at."
Last week, the campaign for Dollar's new plane stated that the purpose of the new plane would be to continue to spread the Gospel around the world.
"Due to this recent incident coupled with the 31 years the airplane has been in service, we believe it is time to replace this aircraft so that our Pastors and staff can continue to safely and swiftly share the Good News of the Gospel worldwide," Dollar said.
