'Tekken 7' rumors: E3 2016 appearance remains unconfirmed; details to be announced at Iron Fist Tournament?

It remains unclear whether or not "Tekken 7," the upcoming ninth installment to the "Tekken" series, will be released at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which will be held at the Los Angeles Convention Center from June 14 to 16.
Apart from the fact that "Tekken 7" is coming to consoles as well as to PlayStation 4 (PS4) and Xbox One platforms, details have been scarce about the highly anticipated installment to the popular fighting game franchise.
At Sony's Paris Games Week conference late last year, "Tekken" series producer Katsuhiro Harada confirmed that "Tekken 7" is coming to consoles and that there will be content that will excite PlayStation fans.
"When the game makes the leap from arcades to console, it will be the most complete and enhanced version up to date," Harada said, according to Destructoid. "We also have special content in the works that's sure to please PlayStation fans," he added.
Earlier this year, a new trailer for the new title was released showing various sneak peeks into the upcoming game. The promo video gave fans glimpses of their favorite "Tekken" characters taking on various challenges.
"Tekken 7" features 29 playable fighters. About 20 of these characters make up the game's default cast on launch; the rest will be introduced over time. Seven of the characters are entirely new: one is a new model of Jack, while another is a dark master from the "Street Fighter" franchise.
Meanwhile, Bandai Namco could announce new details about "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution," the new arcade title, at the ongoing Iron Fist Tournament 2016.
The months-long competition kicked off at the Wizard World in Portland, Oregon in February. Tournaments are being hosted in major cities across the United States and Canada until November this year.
"I'm excited to see what the North American Tekken community is made of as they compete over the next seven months in the 'Tekken 7: The King of the Iron Fist Tournament 2016 in North America,'" Harada said in a statement.
Bandai Namco has yet to announce the official release date for "Tekken 7."
