'Tekken 7' release date news 2016: Game to be launched early 2017? More game features teased
The participants of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 earlier this month were fortunate to know the latest scoops about the latest "Tekken" installment firsthand. Bandai Namco did not disappoint when they said that the public will know more about "Tekken 7" at E3 2016, and after the presentation, the game director and producer himself, Katsuhiro Harada, shared the hottest information regarding the latest "Tekken" game sequel.

After several months of speculation on the worldwide release of "Tekken 7," Harada finally cleared up the matter and revealed that the game will arrive early 2017 in PlayStation 4 home consoles.
It can be recalled that "Tekken 7" was first released as an arcade game in Japan in 2015, and since then, "Tekken" fans in other parts of the world have wondered if the console version of "Tekken 7" will be released in the near future.
The renowned Japanese game producer also talked about the specific elements of "Tekken 7," some that are very new in the franchise and will only be introduced in the game next year. One of the interesting rumors in the past is the supposed "Tekken" and "Street Fighter" crossover. There was no confirmed date regarding the crossover project, although recently, Harada revealed that Akuma of "Street Fighter" will play an important role in the story of "Tekken 7."
As reported by the PlayStation official blog, Akuma will be sporting his famous moves and special combinations in the upcoming "Tekken" video game. However, the popular "Street Fighter" personality is expected to contribute to the main plot of "Tekken 7" story mode, where Akuma is said to sign a deal with Kazumi to eliminate the fearsome Mishima family.
Specifically, Akuma and Kazumi will be teaming up to bring down the latter's husband, Kazuya, and the infamous "Tekken" master, Heihachi. Moreover, the story of the Mishima's will finally come to a close by the end of the game.
Meanwhile, Harada explained some of the new features in a "Tekken" fight, although a few of them are actually making a comeback from the previous "Tekken" game titles. The players can expect the super powered Rage mode attacks returning in "Tekken 7," which will extend into more complex Rage Drives and Rage Art. To note, the Rage Drives attack is useful to increase the damage to the opponent in a combo, while the Rage Art is a very powerful finishing move that will ensure the enemy's knockout.
