The incorporation of VR experience in today's popular video games has become a trend recently. Since the VR headsets such as the Oculus Rift and PS4's PlayStation VR were announced, there are games that are currently being converted to the virtual reality format, most of them are shooter video games. Although a virtual reality feature in a fighting video game like "Tekken 7" seems a bit off, the fans couldn't help but to get too excited. However, the overexcitement might lead the fans to expect something beyond the actual plans for "Tekken 7." According to senior game designer Michael Murray, some of the speculations regarding the VR experience in "Tekken 7" are not going to play out.

"When we announced that we're going to do something with virtual reality, people were like 'oh, so you're going to be playing in first person and hitting each other? That sounds like cr*p!'" Murray said in an interview with WIRED.

Murray further stated that first-person virtual reality features do not work well with an arcade type of gameplay such as "Tekken 7." The announced VR feature is not going to take away the core of video game. He said that the main focus of the new "Tekken" video game is still on the characters. The players can expect more from the characters, including the charming female warriors such as Lucky Chloe. In fact, the player customization of the characters has also been supplemented.

Fans of the game outside Japan have not yet received a final release date for "Tekken 7." The arcade version of the game was already released in Japan last year, although there is still no news about the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game. This year, "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" will be arriving in the arcade stations in Japan, Yibada reported.
