Bandai Namco has announced the latest installment in the "Tekken" franchise, although it was not confirmed by the successful Japanese game developer company whether the game will be released in the near future. Nevertheless, the arcade version of "Tekken 7" was already released in Japan last year, and a lot of "Tekken" fans are now waiting for the announcement of the worldwide launch of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platform versions of the game.

IGN reported Bandai Namco's confirmation that "Tekken 7" will be released on home consoles, following last year's release of the video game for arcade. This made a lot of long-time fans of the franchise very excited as it has been quite a long time since the previous "Tekken" game sequel was released. Aside from the confirmation of the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 game launch, the enhanced graphic presentation and more detailed characterization of the new "Tekken" personalities such as Kazumi Mishima, Claudio, Josie, Shaheen, Katarina, Lucky Chloe and Gigas.

According to the latest reports, the console version of "Tekken 7" will not be released in 2016, contrary to earlier rumors that Bandai Namco will be ready to launch the game sometime this year. Instead, the upcoming "Tekken" sequel will be out worldwide in 2017. This would mean that the fans will have to wait again for a few more months before they can finally experience the new game.

Apart from the possible arrival of "Tekken 7" next year along with the strong character additions to the usual "Tekken" fighters' list, the fans are also hyped up with the rumor that the "Tekken" universe will have a special crossover with another popular fighting video game, "Street Fighter." According to the news website Yibada, there is a possibility that Bandai Namco will be introducing the so-called "Tekken X Street Fighter" video game in the future. However, it has been almost six years since the company mentioned about the crossover, and there was still no development with the highly anticipated project. The only good news for those wanting to see the Tekken and Street Fighter crossover is the recent statement given by the video game director Katsuhiro Harada via Game Spot.

"When we develop fighting games, we try to keep the core community in mind as well as the wider audience that wants to play these games," Harada said in an interview with. "We don't want to split these communities, so a good window in which to release 'Tekken x Street Fighter' is something that's become difficult recently. So it's on hold for the moment," the "Tekken" director said.

With this, the hope is renewed among the game enthusiasts who want to experience something new and engaging in the future video game releases of "Tekken."
