'Teen Wolf' season 6 spoilers news: Tyler Posey shares teasers about Scott being single for the first time in show's history

"Teen Wolf" returns later this year for its much-hyped sixth season, and fans are still wondering what lies ahead for Scott McCall (Tyler Posey) particularly in terms of his romantic life.
Season 5 left off with the beloved Alpha facing a lot of obstacles when his pack was divided because of Theo, but he was able to reunite all of them after defeating the Dread Doctors. Kira's portrayer Arden Cho personally confirmed that she will not be back this season, which brings Scott back to singlehood again. Viewers will definitely see the male lead in a new light because this is the first time in the show's history that he will not have a love interest.
"When we realized that the show wasn't going to have Kira Yukimura this season, we wanted to ask ourselves, 'Does Scott always need to have romance in his life to be a compelling character?'" showrunner Jeff Davis told Entertainment Weekly. "We thought this might be a season where we don't see that side and we see him struggling a little bit." Davis added that Posey personally suggested the story arc for Scott just to see what he is like when he is just on his own and "more of the lone wolf."
Scott may not have a woman in his life this season, but it does not mean that he will be pushing the ladies away. Instead, fans should think that he will have different priorities this time, and him being alone will help his character grow as an individual. "I think he's doing it subconsciously," Posey stated. "I don't know if he's actively trying to be single, but it's doing good for him. He's able to focus on what he wants and not let anything get in the way. He's kind of a crazy puppy dog when he falls in love, kind of aimlessly wandering around, so it's good that he's not thinking of any girls right now. Keeps his eyes on the prize."
"Teen Wolf" season 6 is expected to premiere sometime later this year on MTV.
