"Teen Wolf" season 6 is said to be having a Fall 2016 premiere, which is a huge turnaround from the previous seasons' release date. There are various speculations as to why there is a delay, and most of those are pointing to Dylan O'Brien's mishap on the set of "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" back in March.

The upcoming installment's fall premiere was confirmed through a recent tweet from the official Twitter account of the supernatural series.

That's as much as MTV, which airs the series, would say about the delay. However, what is certain is that O'Brien's accident has nothing to do with the delay. It has been previously reported that the delay has something to do with an internal problem between VIACOM, which is MTV's parent company, and the family who owns majority of the firm.

There appears to be another reason why "Teen Wolf" season 6 is opting for a fall premiere instead of the usual June debut. Apparently, MTV has a new show titled "Sweet/Vicious," which is currently wrapping up filming for season 1. According to Teen Wolf News, MTV is planning to draw more viewers for "Sweet/Vicious'" series premiere by making "Teen Wolf" season 6 its "debut buddy."

The exact fall premiere date of "Teen Wolf" season 6 is expected to be announced at the show's panel at the San Diego Comic-Con that's happening from July 20 to 24.

Meanwhile, fans of the show could expect major changes to happen in the upcoming season. For one, Tyler Posey, who plays alpha male Scott McCall, has told Entertainment Weekly that his character would enjoy single blessedness when "Teen Wolf" returns on air. On the other hand, Stiles Stilinski (O'Brien) could see his relationship with Lydia (Holland Roden) going up to the next level.

This development could put a damper on Stiles and Scott's friendship, although how things would pan out is something viewers would find out when "Teen Wolf" season 6 debuts this fall on MTV.
