'Teen Wolf' season 6 news, spoilers: Dylan O' Brien to be written off series? EP teases 'Stydia' gets 'deeper' this season

The sixth and final season of MTV's "Teen Wolf" promises to be one for the books, more so for "Stydia" shippers. "Stydia," of course, refers to Stiles and Lydia, two characters who have undeniable chemistry but have never been on the same page from the get-go.

Nevertheless, the show's executive producer, Jeff Davis, teased that the relationship between Stiles (Dylan O'Brien) and Lydia (Holland Roden)might finally change in season 6 of the supernatural drama. According to Davis, Stydia's relationship is stronger than that between regular friends.

"They have something special," Davis told Entertainment Weekly (EW) recently. "We decided that this is the place to show that they've gone from a simple crush to friends to something deeper."

A self-confessed fan of the series was able to procure a copy of the premiere episode's script, which Davis teased in the EW interview could be Stiles and Lydia's final moment together for a while. Check it out below:

"Teen Wolf" season 6 will feature the villainous Ghost Riders, supernatural beings who are able to erase people from existence. They have set their sights on Stiles, but apparently, Lydia will stick with Stiles. She will be the last one to forget Stiles, but by the second episode, Scott (Tyler Posey), Malia (Shelley Hennig), and Lydia will realize that something is off.

"They each realize that something huge is missing in their life and they come to this eventual conclusion it might be a person," Davis added.

Fans were quick to assume that the Ghost Riders targeting Stiles could be a ploy to make it easier for the writers to write O'Brien off of season 6. However, according to Zap2It, it's a clever way to accommodate O'Brien's shooting schedule for "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" and his recovery from the injuries he sustained from an on-set accident while shooting the movie.

So O'Brien will be written off, albeit temporarily, although there's no confirmation as to how long it will take his friends to remember that he exists and track him down. Perhaps Stiles will not figure much in the first half of "Teen Wolf" season 6 and will probably be back by the second half, in time to bid the show's fans a proper goodbye.

"Teen Wolf" season 6 premieres Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 9 p.m. EDT on MTV.
